SDGs Initiatives

　SHE+EG is the core value of Meltex that we emphasize the most. SHE+EG refers to SH (Safety & Health) and E (Environment) + EG (Ethics & Goodwill). We aim to grow our company, contributing to resolving social issues and improving our relationships with stakeholders through business activities focused on SHE+EG. We also value the happiness and dignity of our employees and other related parties and conduct various activities to build a better business environment.

　Meltex is a comprehensive surface treatment chemical manufacturer that develops, manufactures and sells surface treatment chemicals mainly for plating and etching.
　Our treatment chemicals are often used in the advanced electronics field. For example, we have supported the development and manufacturing of power semiconductors for highly energy efficient, eco-friendly cars, and IoT equipment and high-speed communication devices to realize "Society 5.0" through our products and have contributed to developing innovative technologies to resolve social issues.
　Reduction in environmentally hazardous substances is recognized as a common issue across the plating chemical industry and technological innovations have occurred to address regulations in each country. We also have continued efforts to reduce the use of environmentally hazardous substances and have considered using alternative substances. In addition, we are focusing on reducing the amount of disposed chemicals and provide eco-friendly products such as recyclable copper etching solution and degreasing solution that can be used for a long time without having to be replaced.

　We have traditionally focused on contributing to society by improving the work environment and natural environment and providing technologies in terms of our core value, SHE+EG, and business-critical technologies. We will continue to position efforts on the SDGs as an important issue to contribute more strongly to building a sustainable society.

• ・ We promote the acquisition of qualifications. We subsidize the TOEIC test fee and have an incentive system according to acquired score.
• ・ We emphasize health-conscious management. We cover all the health checkup costs for employees and partly cover flu shot costs for employees and their families.
• ・ Smoking is prohibited in our entire building to prevent passive smoking.
• ・ We provide training on legal compliance, sexual harassment and power harassment to prevent these problems, for example, by issuing an internal newspaper to deepen understanding of these matters.

• ・ We develop products that do not contain any or contain less environmentally hazardous substances.
• ・ We sell recyclable etching solutions and long-life products and provide a technology to reduce the amount of disposed chemicals.
• ・We monitor energy consumption and make efforts to reduce it.
• ・ We contribute to local communities and the environment through activities such as donating emergency food, engaging in cleaning activities, donating the proceeds from internal bazaars and planting trees.
• ・We improve product packages and composition to save transport energy consumption.

• ・ We conduct joint research and development with universities and research institutions in and outside Japan.
• ・ We proactively participate in international technology consortiums.
